People are trying to get happiness free of charge. They are willing to pay the price to make themselves happy or buy happiness for the future. If you ask a young profession slogging 18 hours and why is he working so hard. He is more likely to describe his desire to achieve happiness. Even if his immediate goal could be to make money, his ultimate goal is happiness and money is the only way to achieve that goal. People who want to believe that power would give them happiness. The people who long for physical and physical pleasure make it happier. Yet all wealth, power and pleasure are not enough to make a man happy as his desire becomes higher and higher. Gandhi has rightly said:
There is enough money in this world that can satisfy each individual's needs. Yet all the money is not enough to satisfy man's greed.
Are we like this fisherman?
It is therefore no wonder that no one seems to be happy in this world where no one has been able to fulfill his desire. We all seem to be like the fisherman in this story.
There was a poor fisherman who used to meet the basic needs of his family by hunting. Once upon a time he was very hungry as he could not understand fish for many days. With a lot of work he took a big fish. He was very happy and meant to take the fish home to feed himself and his family. But the fish asked the fisherman to show mercy on it and to save his life. The fisherman was good and he put the fish back into the water.
Then he saw that the fish became a goddess. She told the fisherman that she was a god who had become a fish for a curse. The effect of the curse would only be removed if a good man is toughen his life. That way, she thanked the fisherman for saving her life and restoring her divinity. She asked the fisherman to pray for a blessing.
The fisherman was a simple man. He simply kept what he needed and asked the god to give him a decent house, good clothes to wear and enough food to eat. The Jew gave his wish and promised that whenever he needs her help, he can always come to the same place near the sea and she will appear again to give him another blessing.
The fisherman returned to his house and found that the cottage disappeared and replaced by a beautiful house. He found his wife and children dressed in beautiful clothes. It was the best meal to eat. His happiness knew no goals.
Many months passed. Once he went to the market when he was suddenly asked to get out of the way when the king of the state left the road. He was lifted off the road. From a distance he saw the king go on the road to an elephant full of grandeur. He felt humbled by the king's people. Then he remembered a goddess and immediately went to the same place on the beach and wanted to see a goddess.
Divinity appeared and asked him to seek another blessing. He asked that she should make him king of the state. Boon was granted. Now the man was too happy. He has all the power and state of the state.
After a few years, when he was examining his kingdom on the gold foal in the summer. The weather was hot and humid. He was sweating a lot. He looked at the sky and found the sun to shine like hot iron. He wanted a cold breeze. Yet there was no wind. He felt frustrated and went straight to the sea and asked the God to appear.
Goddess asked, "What do you need now?" He said he wants the sun to shine like his own, and the wind must slide as he wishes. The god became very angry and said reluctuously: "You fisherman! I made you king, but you're not happy. Go back to the fisherman."
The character of man
The author at the end of the questions asked the reader, "Who do you think is wrong, was it a sailor or goddess?" He concludes that the man was just like the nature of man looking for more. The fisherman behaves like everyone else would have behaved in a similar situation. However, goddess did not like a goddess like she continued to fulfill the wishes of man when she was within her power. But when the man asked for something beyond his power, instead of telling the truth about his limitation, he decided to punish him by making him poor again and forgetting what he has done to give her a new life.
While many of us would agree with the author's conclusion that it is the normal desire of man to seek more and more in this world to satisfy his desire, but at some corner of our heart we also believe we were in place of The fisherman should not have committed such a ban and would not have asked for such an amazing blessing. We also know that even though a goddess would have fulfilled his wish, he would come back to her for even more wishes. Many of us have real control over the sun and the wind, thanks to the detection of the antenna. Yet it seems that we are not happy despite the orgasm of all possible physical comforts. However, it is true that the man has an unlimited desire, but it would be wrong to conclude that the desire of man is only material.
Jesus was a true judge of human nature and rightly said, "The man does not want bread alone." Although bread is necessary to feed the body, but no one can live solely to satisfy his body. While animals can be satisfied after the physical desires are satisfied, one moves to the next level of desire for the fullest of physical desire.
Who are different desires? We can classify the desires of man in four different categories, ie.
(1) The Thinking of Mind
(2) The Thoughts of Mind
4 Desires for Spirit
So Animals Can Destroy His Life For Satisfaction With His Physical Desires One Has to Satisfy the desire at a higher level, which can only be left to sleep until the wishes are not met. True happiness is only realized when one is able to satisfy the desire of all four stages of desire.
1 Satisfy the Desire of the Body
The first need of all humans, like other animals, is to satisfy the desire of the body. Relief can be satisfied with food, water, shelter and clothing. and by fulfilling physical needs. However, physical needs are only satisfied for a little while and the longing comes back after some time. Therefore, we want to ensure the satisfaction of the future's physical needs, including the accumulation of wealth, and the creation of rituals such as marriages that deal with sensitive needs. All human rights institutions are created with the aim that one can ensure satisfaction in all his physical needs for life so that he can move to the next level.
2 Satisfying Obsession
We find that people get rich in excess of their need. Often these people are called greedy or dirty rich. Yet the fact is that wealth accumulation is not for the sake of physical need but for spiritual need as a wealth that gives them recognition and respect in society. People get respect and honor that seems to be related to their sales or funds. Bill Gates was certainly respected by many because he was the richest person in the world. But in real life, is it not the money that is worthy of society, but respect for the minds that made possible?
Imagine that you have introduced billions of dollars by chance, say by lottery or inheritance. Or you have acquired wealth by killing a rich man or landing a land. Do you want to feel good? Do you want to respect people? The answer seems to be negative.
The reality is that people do not value wealthy or rich people for their wealth. After all, the owner of wealth becomes wealthy. Yet, as they wish and respect the mind, they created these wealth. Wealth is only a measure of the mental or intellectual ability of one person in this material world. If another member is paid to other people, then the likelihood that a person who earns a higher salary is likely to be more intelligent or wise than one who receives a lower salary. Here, people respect the man for more wages, as they think he has more mental capacity. Many authors and leaders like Gandhi and Mother Teresa were honored, even though they had no property at all. They also had the opportunity to create wealth that they chose to do.
People seek respect for the people when they become rich or powerful. This is only possible if one meets his spiritual desire and develops intellectually. The rich man must prove his spiritual respect for the community. All self-made people have already done so. Others need to do that by doing good business investment and earning more money so they get better than others. If they fail to do that, they fail to realize happiness.
3 Satisfying the Desires of the Psyche
Most people get their wealth or power by giving themselves better than others. Here, the most successful people should be happy as they have been able to fulfill their body and mind. Yet, they are not getting happiness as the next stage of their craving begins.
People realize in their lives that they are unique in this world with unique personality and skills. It's a deliberate design of nature because each individual has been designed for purpose. Thus, every success person seems at some point of his life when he fails to realize happiness, "Who am I?", "What is my goal?", "What is the purpose of my life?"
Identifying the self is the greatest secret of man. Once you realize it, he understands the purpose and purpose of his life. All great people like Gandhi, Buddha, Newton and Einstein understood their purpose in life and created a new world by satisfying their soul. There is no reason why they did what was completely blurred for "ordinary" people.
One can fulfill his soul, only if he knows correctly and follows the voice of his consciousness rather than the logic of the world.
4 Satisfying the Spirit's Desires
The ultimate destiny of man is to gain divinity by knowing God inside and outside. When one has fulfilled his aspiration, he realized that the whole world is each connected to each other by common spirits, which we often call as God or Supreme Power. After this, the soul of man is one with spirit. Thus, the man works for pleasure for every creature of the world. All his wealth and power, instead of becoming a means to satisfy his desire, is used to satisfy the desire of the Spirit or God by serving all of this universe.
Happiness – The Only Purpose of Life
Not many feel the desire for the spirit where even their needs are not met. Yet, only because of this desire, people like Bill Gates gave all their money for the benefit of the community. Buddha also left his kingdom to satisfy his desire for soul and spirit.
Indian philosophy believes that when one meets his desire for spirit, he becomes one with God and becomes free from slavery of life and death. He reaches his salvation by becoming one with God. But he who does not fulfill his longing for spirit must return to this world until he or she can fulfill all wishes. The state of satisfaction is also called Paramanada (Ultimate Happiness).
Thus, the natural desire of man to evolve from body to mind to soul in spirit. It's like a treasure hunt where the idea of a greater level of desire is found after the satisfaction of the lower level desire. The award to discover every treasure is happiness. Moving in this direction is a source of happiness while moving in the opposite direction is the source of all unhappiness, pain and vanity.
Thus, every man can receive salvation or God, or enter into the kingdom of God not by suffering from pain, but simply by satisfying the wishes of his favor as rewarding the man with a sense of happiness.
