Leadership III – Adaptability and Flexibility

Your ability to demonstrate adaptability and flexibility is essentially part of your emotional intelligence – in fact, you can develop these qualities as you progress, but why wait? Adaptability and flexibility show your team and your bosses that you can work in a way that encourages changes at all times, so it seems you're hardly hit. A great leader can be a lot, but most great leaders do not break apart when change and adversity appear. Let's talk about ways to show adaptability and flexibility.

First, you must work with confidence in your daily challenges. In the world's businesses, we've probably seen all managers who spend the most of the day badly and curse all the changes that prevent him. Simply smile and chop it, you can show your group that daily content is not going to resume you. This confidence will generate trust in the team – they feel comfortable knowing that you respond positively to even the biggest challenges.

Trust is one thing, but what about the operation? When multiple requirements appear, do not be a leader that turns off. You must first show that you are ready to meet many demands. This could mean that you pause your working day or continue with an "open door" policy anywhere, from home to work. Then you must show that you can handle many requirements. Your ability will show if you know when to hide, when to prioritize and when to stop everything and cope with the problem in front of you. We can not handle challenges and many demands without coping with the changes. Let's look at it: some organizations are daring to start in one direction and end up in another. It may be due to market conditions, competitor or involuntary senior management – but whatever the cause should respond appropriately to changing priorities. What is the appropriate response? Look at it as a challenge and show your team as such. Compare the energy and drive of the group and ensure that the same energy is transferred to a new priority. Do not let the team see you sweat a new priority, either. Be sure of their ability to cope with it and offer assistance as things continue.

Diameter is another dimension that shows adaptability and flexibility. Many do not work well in ambiguous situations and leaders are not immune to this disability. As a leader, it is your duty to establish a mess in order to do the role and the way forward when things are a little cloudy. This is where your spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship will be useful, in addition you can lead courage and ask for further vision or direction. If you are the one who sets the vision, be clear about it, even if the scope is unclear.

One of the best things to remember about adaptability and flexibility is that you have to work outside your comfort zone. We've talked about this in brave leadership – you may need to respond when you're slow uncomfortable, listening to this inner voice or completing the facts that are in front of you. But here's another secret: When you have to fix you, move your team into the picture. We all have different abilities and unclear situations will give you the opportunity to rely on team skills.

How can you show adaptability and flexibility every day? In family circumstances, take some time to move – family ruling because Type A is probably not a good idea, so prove that you can be flexible. Social organizations test our adaptability and flexibility every day: they are the best example of changing priorities and many requirements. Take the time to show that you can see it by taking a new project or delivering when it is necessary.

If you show that you are motivated, inspired and able to respond to congestion, dissatisfaction, barriers and changes, your team will have no trouble.
